Connecting Google Sheets

To use MillionVerifier's API to automatically verify contacts within Google Sheets, you can use Zapier for the connection.

How to Connect Google Sheets with MillionVerifier Using Zapier

By following these steps, you can automate email verification by connecting Google Sheets with MillionVerifier using Zapier. This integration allows emails added or updated in your sheet to be verified automatically, with the results populated back into the spreadsheet.

Step 1: Create a New Zap in Zapier

  1. Open your browser and navigate to zapier.com.

  2. Sign in to your Zapier account or create one if you do not already have an account.

  3. Once logged in, click the “Create Zap” button located in the upper-left corner of the dashboard.

Step 2: Set Up Google Sheets as the Trigger

  1. In the first step of the Zap setup, search for “Google Sheets” and select it as the trigger application.

  2. When prompted to choose a trigger event, select “New or Updated Spreadsheet Row.” This means that Zapier will monitor your selected spreadsheet and worksheet for any new entries or changes to existing rows.

  3. Connect your Google account by following the authentication prompts. Grant Zapier the necessary permissions to access your spreadsheets.

  4. After connecting your account, select the specific spreadsheet and worksheet you want to monitor.

  5. Zapier will pull in sample data from your sheet to allow you to map the fields in the following steps.

Step 3: Add MillionVerifier as the First Action

  1. After setting up the trigger, add a new action by selecting MillionVerifier as the next application.

  2. Choose the action event “Verify Email.” This instructs Zapier to send the email address from your spreadsheet to MillionVerifier for validation.

  3. Connect your MillionVerifier account to Zapier. You will need your API key, which you can find by logging into your MillionVerifier dashboard and navigating to the API section.

  4. Once connected, map the column from your Google Sheet that contains the email address to the corresponding input field in MillionVerifier.

Step 4: Add a Second Action to Update Google Sheets with the Verification Result

  1. Add another action to the Zap by clicking the “+” button below the previous step.

  2. Select “Google Sheets” again as the application for this action.

  3. Choose the “Update Spreadsheet Row” action event.

  4. Select the same spreadsheet and worksheet used in the trigger step.

  5. In the “Row” field, use the Row ID from the trigger step. This ensures that the same row where the email address originated will be updated with the results.

  6. Map the output fields from MillionVerifier (such as “status” or “details”) to the appropriate columns in your sheet, such as “Status” and “Details.”

Step 5: Test the Zap and Activate It

  1. Run a test using a sample row in your spreadsheet to verify that the integration is working correctly.

  2. Check that the email address is successfully sent to MillionVerifier and that the result is written back into the correct row and columns of your sheet.

  3. If everything works as expected, click the “Turn On Zap” button to activate the automation.

Once this Zap is active, every time you add a new email address or update an existing one in the specified Google Sheet, Zapier will automatically send the email to MillionVerifier for validation. The verification result will then be populated in the same row, allowing you to manage your email list more effectively and maintain cleaner data without manual effort.

You can find more information about this here: https://zapier.com/apps/millionverifier/integrations.

However, you can also download your sheets in a CSV and upload them for verification manually as an alternative. In addition, you can also use our bulk API for this: https://help.millionverifier.com/email-verification-api/file-upload-api
